What can I Expect?

Your First Visit

We ask that you either arrive 20 minutes prior to your first appointment so that you have time to fill out the intake forms, or download the forms (located on this page), fill them out at home, and bring them to our office. Your first visit will last 90 minutes and the first 15-20 minutes are spent in your initial consultation, in most cases, which consists of a one-on-one, in-depth conversation with your Acupuncturist to elaborate on the information you provided on the forms, and to make sure that your Acupuncturist has a very clear understanding of your present state of being and how you got that way.

Your first treatment will follow the consultation session. The specific Acupuncture points we select will usually be a combination of acupuncture points on the body, limbs and/or head in order to focus on correcting that underlying pattern of disharmony. There will also be points added specifically to help alleviate current symptoms. Once acupuncture needles have been inserted into appropriate points in your body, we will usually leave you to relax in your treatment room for up to 20 minutes. Most patients report that acupuncture treatments are not only relatively painless, but also extremely relaxing.

Follow-up Treatments

All treatments after the first session last one hour. Please arrive at least five minutes early for these visits so that you can relax ahead of our session. We begin each of these appointments with a review of the progress made since the last session. We make sure we're on track and that our focus is appropriate to your current situation.
